gorge scenic chairlift

Tasmania has so many amazing experiences on offer to suit many different groups of visitors. From the cultural seekers, foodies, nature lovers, bushwalkers, family groups, grey nomads and more. But what makes us stand out is it doesn’t matter who you are or which group you belong to, there are no boundaries - the Chairlift is an experience that everyone can enjoy.

The gentle, safe, and breathtaking ride takes you over the huge, naturally formed basin, filled by the waters of the South Esk River. All the while providing stunning views of both the Northern and southern side of the reserve with the majestic dolerite cliffs of the Cataract Gorge. Described by William Collins, of the ship Lady Nelson, as “a scene of natural beauty, probably not surpassed in the world", our goal is to provide an experience that people will remember forever.

  • Open 7 days a week, from 9:00 am to late (season dependant)
